When is the Amsterdam Canal Parade this year?

The Amsterdam Canal Parade takes place on August 1, 2026. During this annual celebration of freedom and diversity, colorful boats sail through the canals, surrounded by hundreds of thousands of visitors on and along the water. The Amsterdam Gay Pride feels different from any other party in the city. It's not just about music and fun, but about freedom, being yourself, and celebrating who you are together. You experience this most intensely from the water.

What is included in the Gay Pride boat package?

You will receive a private boat for up to 30 people, including a skipper, unlimited drinks (beer, wine, and soft drinks), and a mandatory sticker for a prime location on the Prinsengracht.

An experienced captain will ensure that the boat is safely secured in your spot, along the route of the popular Canal Pride Parade. With the open bar, no one has to think about anything else, only dancing, being together, and celebrating Pride as it is meant to be: open, joyful, and connected.

Bringing your own food is of course allowed and we definitely recommend it.

How long do you sail during the Amsterdam Canal Parade 2026?

During the Amsterdam Canal Parade, you do not sail with the parade boats, but you will have a designated mooring along the parade route. You board your private cruise at 10:00 AM and the boat will stay in place until around 6:00 PM. You will board directly at the boat's mooring on the Prinsengracht. Shortly before, you will receive the exact boarding location.

Is the Amsterdam Gay Pride boat open or covered?

During Pride, we prefer an open boat, as this allows you to experience the colors, music, and energy around you most strongly. Only when really bad weather is forecast do we sail with a boat that is partially or fully covered. This keeps it comfortable on board and you can stay dry and let the party continue regardless of the weather.

Important information

Renting a boat during Gay Pride Amsterdam is very popular every year and boats are often sold out months in advance. Therefore, to guarantee a private boat during the Amsterdam Canal Pride Parade reservations should be made well in advance.

Private boat bookings for the Gay Pride Parade are non-refundable. After confirmation, the reservation cannot be cancelled and paid amounts will not be refunded.
